Ministry Focus: Making disciples--this is what Phil and Judy are about. PAOC's "Alleluia" churches are young, vibrant and eager for support and training to reach this Muslim dominated country.  "Dr. Phil" is the theological educational consultant for Guinea, Liberia and Senegal, and in this role he teaches courses and trains leaders for the churches of West Africa. Additionally, he is the director of Global University (formerly ICI) for these countries. Judy is the facilitator of discipleship and evangelistic strategies with a vision for church planting in Guinea and beyond. She also oversees the ChildCARE Plus Program for Guinea. Together they are working to strengthen and develop the 17 Alleluia Christian schools in Guinea.

Ministry History: Son of veteran missionaries Arn and Elsie Bowler, Phil grew up in Kenya and Uganda and received a call to full-time service as a young man. After marrying Judy and welcoming Mathias (May 1996) and David (October 1999) to their family, they were appointed as PAOC full-time global workers in 2002. After 14 years of fruitful and diverse ministry located in Dakar, Senegal, and in the wake of the death of Bill Pharand, they relocated as empty-nesters to Conakry in Guinea in January 2018. They bring a wealth of experience from their years in Senegal.

Prayer Requests:

  • More disciples! For expansion of quantity and quality throughout West Africa
  • Wisdom to effectively draw alongside the Alleluia Churches
  • Abundant financial resources to see Guinea reached for Christ
  • For protection for Phil and Judy and for national believers in the instability of Guinea
