Dan and Mardell served in Mexico for 7 1/2 years working alongside pastors and Bible School graduates throughout the country and later assisting with a church plant in the city of Guadalajara. They then moved to Spain and pastored the Salem church in Alicante for 6 1/2 years. 

Over the next 15 years they lived in Bucharest working as senior associate pastors of the Bucharest International Church. This multi-cultural church community located in city center provides a setting for evangelism, discipleship and leadership development. With an emphasis on encouraging, strengthening and equipping ministry leadership and local church actitivies, the MacTavishes diversify their ministry time between Romania, Spain and with specific assignments among PAOC Global Workers of the Eurasia district. 

During the past 8 years they have worked to bring awareness to the human trafficking issue by giving assistance to Romania's Iana Matei, a leading expert in Europe, recognized as Reader's Digest European Person of the 2010 year for her efforts to fight against international human trafficking.
